Abstract

Tinjauan pustaka ini mencakup artikel dan buku tentang STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) dalam pendidikan anak usia dini. Pembelajaran STEAM dinilai merupakan pendekatan yang tepat untuk menjawab tantangan abad 21 karena mengintegrasikan hard skill dan soft skill yang dibutuhkan anak. Menarik untuk dicatat bahwa di sebagian besar artikel, STEAM adalah metode pedagogi populer untuk meningkatkan kreativitas, keterampilan pemecahan masalah, penyelidikan ilmiah dan pemikiran kritis, serta memberikan manfaat kognitif lainnya. Hal ini diajarkan dalam pembelajaran terpadu pada PAUD dan dilakukan melalui observasi harian anak. Literatur juga membahas bahwa dampak pembelajaran STEAM membuat anak menjadi lebih aktif dan mampu mengambil inisiatif dalam pengetahuannya sendiri. Guru yang dipengaruhi oleh pengembangan profesional terpadu STEAM memberikan pengaruh positif kepada anak-anak melalui pembelajaran profesional mereka. Temuan lain dari review ini adalah pengalaman STEAM dapat meningkatkan rasa percaya diri anak. Selain itu pembelajaran STEAM dinilai mampu mengintegrasikan keterampilan yang dibutuhkan anak. STEAM mendorong anak-anak untuk membangun pengetahuan tentang dunia di sekitar mereka dengan mengamati, menyelidiki, dan mengajukan pertanyaan. Tinjauan ini bertujuan untuk mempertimbangkan pembelajaran lanjutan dalam pendidikan anak usia dini melalui STEAM.
