Leveraging Youtube-based Authentic Videos to Enhance English Learning Motivation among University Students in Palopo

Studi ini meneliti perubahan motivasi belajar bahasa Inggris di kalangan mahasiswa di Palopo setelah integrasi video asli berbasis YouTube ke dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris. Desain metode campuran berurutan yang penjelasan digunakan. Fase kuantitatif melibatkan 120 mahasiswa sarjana yang menyelesaikan Kuesioner Motivasi Belajar Bahasa Inggris sebelum dan setelah intervensi selama delapan minggu, sementara 15 mahasiswa mengikuti wawancara semi-terstruktur tindak lanjut. Skor motivasi rata-rata meningkat dari 3,28 pada pra-tes menjadi 4,11 pada pasca-tes, dan t-test sampel berpasangan menunjukkan perbedaan pra-tes–pasca-tes yang signifikan secara statistik, t(119) = 15,72, p < .001. D Cohen yang dilaporkan adalah 1,12, menunjukkan perbedaan besar sebelum tes–pasca-tes. Temuan kualitatif menyoroti lima tema yang berulang: paparan bahasa Inggris yang otentik, pengalaman belajar yang menarik, peningkatan kepercayaan diri, pembelajaran yang fleksibel, dan pengembangan kosakata. Secara keseluruhan, temuan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam motivasi setelah instruksi yang dibantu YouTube. Namun, karena studi menggunakan desain satu kelompok pra-tes–pasca-pengujian tanpa kelompok kontrol, perbaikan yang diamati harus diartikan sebagai perubahan yang terkait dengan intervensi daripada bukti pasti efek kausal langsung.
