Bahasa Slang dan Fenomena Brain Rot di Kalangan Generasi Alpha: Tinjauan Psikolinguistik terhadap Masalah Kebahasaan dan Perkembangan Kognitif

Fenomena penggunaan bahasa slang di kalangan Generasi Alpha semakin berkembang pesat seiring dominasi media digital dan budaya pop. Istilah seperti “brain rot” kini bukan hanya merujuk pada kondisi neurologis, tetapi telah bergeser menjadi metafora bagi degradasi kognitif akibat konsumsi konten digital berlebihan. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis fenomena bahasa slang dan implikasinya terhadap perkembangan bahasa, kognisi, dan interaksi sosial anak-anak Generasi Alpha melalui perspektif psikolinguistik. Metode yang digunakan adalah kajian pustaka sistematis terhadap berbagai penelitian mutakhir yang diterbitkan dalam kurun waktu 2010–2025, bersumber dari Google Scholar, ResearchGate, dan Consensus dengan menggunakan kata kunci: slang language, brain rot, Generation Alpha, psycholinguistics, dan language development. Dari 47 artikel yang diidentifikasi, 18 artikel dipilih berdasarkan kriteria relevansi dan kualitas metodologi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa bahasa slang berfungsi sebagai identitas kelompok dan sarana ekspresi kreatif, namun penggunaannya yang masif juga dapat mengaburkan struktur bahasa formal dan menurunkan keterampilan berbahasa standar. Paparan konten digital yang cepat dan repetitif berkorelasi dengan penurunan rentang perhatian, gangguan akuisisi sintaksis dan semantik, serta hambatan pada perkembangan fungsi eksekutif anak. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan slang merupakan gejala linguistik yang alami dalam perkembangan bahasa remaja, namun pemantauan dan edukasi dari orang tua serta lembaga pendidikan tetap diperlukan agar perkembangan kebahasaan Generasi Alpha tetap adaptif dan seimbang.
